                                                Looking back and Looking Forward

This course of technology has opened my eyes so much. From the beginning thinking that this was going to be overwhelming to seeing what the finish line looks like. What are my takeaways? Favorite topic? What have I learned? So so many to look back on. Let's get started.


What are my takeaways? 

First of all, I can say wow! I love technology and the what technology brings to others. What I did not know I was going to miss this course on technology. I enjoy learning new concepts and making sure I can apply them to about anything. The biggest take away is learning to blog again. Being able to blog again has brought in my self-confidence. The words on the page flows from each week and I can not wait to keep this trend up. 

Another take away is putting images and gifs on the blogger. I know it sounds simple and easy to do, but this was hard for me to grasp. Taking the time to gain this information has been so helpful. 


Favorite Topic

A favorite topic is hard to pin point. Everything I have learned especially on last weeks topic has amazed me. The different views and what I can accomplish. My favorite topic would be Active Learning. This topic made me think outside the box and to think outside my teaching. When looking through the topics being provided, role playing stood out. I practice this mostly in the classroom. What I have accomplished with this topic is to bring this into my classroom. 

Another topic I wanted to explore on was on nature walks. Those are fun and adventures. When children are out and about they love to explore. I have seen this in my teaching and with my nieces. Seeing their faces when they see items on their paper, checking them off and finding the different bugs. This is always priceless. Their imagination runs wild and I continue to have them seek out nature when it's possible. 

What I have learned

I have learned how to accomplish my first professional web presence. I have only been able to use my credentials as a Pre-K teacher and learning in a librarianship, has been wonderful. Learning this new tools will help me in the future. When other ask about my Professional Portfolio, I can display mine. Having this as part of this course, took me by surprise. I enjoy making the options to change to what I need for where I am going. 

Conclusion

My gif is the same from the introduction. My GIF stayed the same because I have been happy with technology and always learning. Being able to showcase this throughout my career will only help me vastly improve in the technology world.

In conclusion this course was fast paced, Nicole has guided me and helped me so much. Being able to end in June, I can enjoy the rest of summer. I did not think this course would go by so fast and I am sad this course has come to close. It is not a good bye, but a see you next time. Thank you to everyone!

Exploring Technology Integration  May 15th, 2024 Imagine the first day of school sitting at a table, look around, what is in front of you? Anything stand out? This model stands for Substitution, Augmentation, Modification and Redefinition. These four key points will help the teachers and the students understand each other better. The first tier is called the Substitution which is used as a direct link in technology, an example is having a student use Microsoft Word instead of writing with a pencil on their notebook. I have been told Generation Z, but I just found out that I am not. When I look up Generation Y is we are start of the change in internet, tech-savvy and starting with social media coming to light.  An interesting thought is that Generation Y did not keep up it's name sake, the Millennials name have stayed strong. The reason behind this is because of the driven nature for change and negative publicity the name has caused. What do I think? I would say I am tech savvy to a point.
