I remember being in school and no cell phones unless it is a big emergency. Then when it came to lap tops, that was a bigger issue. Now with social media being in the classroom and having a cell phone is necessary.  What does this do to the mental health aspect? Does it make it better?  Image Source: lfcsmo.org Mental Health On this topic I wanted to explore more on the mental health in the classroom. I am continuing to hear about this issue where I am currently as a Pre-K teacher. I wanted to get out in front of it. Mental health has always been near and dear to me. Especially with working with the younger children. Even though my children are younger they are attached to their own devices. I am wondering what their mental health is like.  Reflection 6/23/24                                                 Looking back and Looking Forward This course of technology has opened my eyes so much. From the beginning thinking that this was going to be overwhelming to seeing what the finish line looks like. What are my takeaways? Favorite topic? What have I learned? So so many to look back on. Let's get started. What are my takeaways?  First of all, I can say wow! I love technology and the what technology brings to others. What I did not know I was going to miss this course on technology. I enjoy learning new concepts and making sure I can apply them to about anything. The biggest take away is learning to blog again. Being able to blog again has brought in my self-confidence. The words on the page flows from each week and I can not wait to keep this trend up.  Another take away is putting images and gifs on the blogger. I know it sounds simple and easy to do, but this was hard for me to grasp. Taking the time to gain this i

According to the Britanncia.com , " data mining, in computer science,  the process of discovering interesting and useful patterns and relationships in large volumes of data . The field combines tools from statistics and artificial intelligence (such as neural networks and machine learning) with database management to analyze large digital collections, known as data sets." What this quote tells me is that it's used for data collection to find a certain person or an area to look up. I decided to take a look at what my data mining would look at. I used several sites and this is what I found.   These are the websites: Edge :  I started with Microsoft Edge and these are my results:  "Elizabeth Sarti"- These results showed my social media accounts in Facebook and LinkedIn.  Digital Accessibility 6/16/24                                                                           Accessibility with I-pads I-Pads have been a growing trend. When deep diving into the accessibility features they have some easy tools for everyone to use.  As a teacher I have learned to navigate certain tools to help out my students. When being a patron at a library, I have noticed a lot of children using different kinds of I-Pads to navigate around. All of these tools can be beneficial. What am I missing? What is trend that makes these I-pads so popular?                                                                             Image Source: educatorstechnology.com I-Pad accessibility features I have had my personal I-Pad and my work's I-Pad, I did not know there was so many different kinds of features. These features are beneficial and give a great insight into what I did not know about. I enjoyed exploring the many different ones and as I heard from the Apple Tech, they ar

Personal Learning Network 6/15/24                                                     My personality tests: What they show about me Personal Learning Network is a term I was not familiar with. I did ask some of my teacher friends and one did know what this network is all about. A helpful guide to staying connected in a professional and personal way, through social media. I am able to accomplish this by connecting with various teachers, discussion boards, trainings in person in education and library science, joining American Library Association on Instagram and many more. These networks will help to guide me and others to gain a personal and professional outlook.  Personality Tests When it comes to taking personality tests, astrology tests or your local magazine test, I enjoy taking these tests. I find them to be fun and exciting. Sometimes to see where I am at, but also to see where I can improve. When choosing the personality tests, this was hard to choose the top three because all

Technology has been beneficial for children and teens. In the Center for Educational Innovation  article describes this strategy perfectly, " Active learning refers to a broad range of teaching strategies which engage students as active participants in their learning during class time with their instructor. Typically, these strategies involve some amount of students working together during class, but may also involve individual work and/or reflection." My first experience with active learning is in my 7th grade reading class. My teacher helped us as students learn at our own way and with different learning styles. The valuable strategy we used was the think-pair-share method which is to read over a reading paragraph and the
