In the Center for Educational Innovation  article describes this strategy perfectly, " Active learning refers to a broad range of teaching strategies which engage students as active participants in their learning during class time with their instructor. Typically, these strategies involve some amount of students working together during class, but may also involve individual work and/or reflection." I have been told Generation Z, but I just found out that I am not. When I look up Generation Y is we are start of the change in internet, tech-savvy and starting with social media coming to light.  An interesting thought is that Generation Y did not keep up it's name sake, the Millennials name have stayed strong. The reason behind this is because of the driven nature for change and negative publicity the name has caused. What do I think? I would say I am tech savvy to a point. Technology Impact: Instagram  May 19th, 2024                                                                       My personal journey with Instagram Starting point with technology I grew up with little to no technology in my house. My parents did not believe in the internet and when the internet was needed, I walked to the library. Sometimes I would stay at school to finish homework to use the internet. Back then I would need to use a dial phone to call my parents to pick me up. At a young age I did learn to work the tv and the DVD player. Which was nothing fancy, the DVD player was with the tv. One day the DVD was not working, so I played around with the DVD to make sure the movie worked. Which the movie finally then did play. Then I knew technology was for me. This model stands for Substitution, Augmentation, Modification and Redefinition. These four key points will help the teachers and the students understand each other better. The first tier is called the Substitution which is used as a direct link in technology, an example is having a student use Microsoft Word instead of writing with a pencil on their notebook. Introduction May 8th 2024 Hello Everyone!  My name is Liz Sarti and I am excited for this summer class. I am currently pursing a dual masters degree in library science and youth literature. I have added in education to my degree because I love working with children and I have been in the education field for 15 years.                                                                                Author's Image A back story is that when I was in middle school, a librarian needed help with books, story time and shelving books. I was lucky enough to have some free time and I was able to help this librarian out. While helping her out, I shelved books, helped in checking out books and finally participated in a story time. I was only able to help the librarian out for one semester because I did not have anymore free time. I was approached by the principal to help the librarian out in the evenings.
